Governance and ceremonial

The charter

We rejoice in the gift of the vine, the miracle that is the harvest, the mysteries of the transformation of grape to wine.

The souls of grape and vineyard are present in wine, and this unites us both to the soil and to each other.

Aigle, Epesses, Vallamand, Tartegnin, Bonvillars - all of Vaud comes alive through its wines, and in its vineyards our alliance and fraternal joy are sealed.

Confrérie "ressats" pass on the tradition of the meals that farmers and winegrowers share with their helpers in thankfulness and exaltation after the harvest.

Our celebrations align with the seasons - the flowering of the vine in spring, the grape harvest in fall – and hail nature's bounty while tapping into myths and memories buried deep in the collective psyche.

May our reasoning be always robust, frank and true; Our laughter generous, healthy, and freeing; Our powers life-enhancing, innovative and creative; And may we know measure in all things.

Through the Confrérie du Guillon, whose values we share, we espouse the spirit of companionship and fellowship.

Let the wine flow, let it bring everyone together!

The Guillon Society follows similar rituals then those from La Confrérie du Guillon:

  • In Singapore, Members must also demonstrate that they can 'operate' a Guillon

  • We have adopted the Charter of La Confrérie du Guillon as guiding principles for our activities, which is reproduced hereafter

  • Applicants and members can download here a glossary and our house rules
